From engine oil changes to brake pad replacements, there are a variety of services your Acura MDX will need throughout its lifespan to keep it running at its best. By keeping up with its routine maintenance, you will be able to continue to get efficient, safe, and smooth performance around Jenkintown, Abington, and Lower Southampton Township for thousands of miles.
Here to help you stay on schedule with your Acura MDX maintenance and what to do in order to ensure the best performance possible when driving your Acura, our Sussman Acura team put together this helpful maintenance guide.
To make sure your Acura is in great shape at all times, there are various inspections you can do yourself. On a monthly basis, be sure to check the following:
By performing these checks regularly, you will be able to know exactly when fluids need to be changed or parts replaced as soon as they become old or worn.
Oil changes are one of the most important services when it comes to the performance and longevity of your vehicle. Driving conditions and habits, though, play a role in how long your engine oil will last. Thanks to Maintenance Minder™ equipped inside newer MDX models, you will know exactly when the oil in your engine is due for a change.
When there is less than 15 percent of oil life left, you will see a message appear on the multi-information display, letting you know the engine oil will need to be changed soon. Once this goes down to five percent, it is recommended to schedule any oil change as soon as possible. At the very least, this service should be done once a year.
With Maintenance Minder™, you might also see a range of numbers as well as either the letter “A” or “B” when an alert appears that it is time to have your Acura MDX serviced. The letter “A” simply means to have the engine oil replaced. If you see the letter “B”, then you will need to have parts like the brakes, suspension components, driveshaft boots, and fuel lines and connections all inspected on top of getting the oil changed.
After that, you may see any number from “1” to “7” as well. These each indicate certain services your MDX will also need. You can always refer to your owner’s manual to see what each one represents. As an example, if you see the number “1”, you’ll need to have the tires rotated. When the number “5” is shown, the engine coolant is ready to be replaced.
Thanks to the technology of Maintenance Minder™, your Acura MDX will keep you informed of all the services your vehicle needs. When you do see an alert to schedule service, you can make an appointment here at Sussman Acura.
Our experts in our service center know what each Maintenance Minder™ code represents, so they can get right to work on all the services your Acura is due for. They will make sure to change fluids with the exact type your car takes and replace components with genuine Acura parts. With their help, your Acura MDX will give you top-notch performance around Jenkintown, Abington, and Lower Southampton Township for years to come!
