The 2019 Acura RDX MPG starts with an EPA-estimated 21 city/26 highway MPG* on SH-AWD® (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™) models that are equipped with the A-Spec® package. This luxury crossover’s fuel economy goes up ever so slightly if you don’t opt for the A-Spec® package.

Acura RDX Fuel Economy Choose a front-wheel drivetrain, and the Acura RDX MPG increases a little bit more. With this configuration, the fuel economy maxes out at an EPA-estimated 22 city/28 highway MPG*.

The RDX has a 17.1-gallon fuel tank, and you’ll want to fill up with Premium Unleaded 91-Octane fuel for optimal performance.

That’s some impressive efficiency, given the size and power that this crossover SUV offers. Under the hood, a 2.0L VTEC® Turbo generates 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission helps you take advantage of more torque at low speeds and offers quick, responsive gear changes.

This engine also makes use of direct fuel injection, which sprays fuel straight into the combustion chamber for superior power and efficiency. This method is more efficient than multi-port injection systems, which can still be found on lesser SUVs.

Features That Affect Acura RDX MPG

As you can see above, there are two main features that affect the 2019 Acura RDX MPG. The first is the A-Spec® package. This style upgrade offers sporty features, like:

  • Rear diffuser
  • 20-inch Shark Gray wheels
  • Sport seats in Black Ebony or Red Leather
  • Acura/ELS Studio 3D® Premium Audio system

Acura RDX Interior Features Basically, this package is all about giving the RDX a bolder, more athletic appearance inside and out.

Opting for an all-wheel drive model also affects fuel economy, as the engine needs to power all four wheels instead of only two. However, the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) model also offers more confidence in slippery conditions.

That’s not all this intelligent system offers, though. It also improves performance when you’re accelerating, keeps you stable around corners, and more. Then, when you’re on a straightaway, SH-AWD® shifts most of its power to the front wheels to conserve fuel.
